Material overview

Our silicone rubber sheets are available in transparent (translucent) and red; the red variants are FDA-approved as food-safe. This silicone rubber is flexible, elastic, and resistant to temperatures up to approximately 220 °C. Crucially, the material is laserproof, enabling clean cuts and high-precision engravings.

Silicone rubber is fire-resistant, which makes laser cutting somewhat challenging. The residue from the cut settles around the edges as a slightly greasy black ash. This ash can easily be washed off afterwards. If you have many parts, you can put them in a laundry bag and run them through a washing machine cycle.

Applications

Suitable for layered sculptures, wall ornaments, and model building. Engravings are subtle and can be beautifully detailed with stencils or relief work.

For professionals:
Widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and medical industries for seals, closures, baking molds, mats, and rollers. Also great for technical mats, insulation, damping, and stencils. Its elastic properties and food safety make it particularly valuable.
