Collection: Plastics & films

Plastics and films for laser cutting

Plastics and films for laser cutting bundles non-acrylic plastics, thin films, polyester sheets, felt-like materials, and a few biobased plastic sheets. If you are looking for PMMA, plexiglass, or colored acrylic, then Acrylic is usually the better starting point.

What is included in this collection?

Within Plastics & films you will find, among others, Mylar film, PET-G polyester transparent, PET polyester felt black, Engraving board PMMA black/white, Biopanel, and Fibernyl. The materials differ greatly: Mylar is a very thin polyester film, PET-G is a transparent plastic sheet, PET felt is a black felt-like polyester material, Engraving board is a two-layer PMMA material for high-contrast engraving, and Biopanel and Fibernyl are biobased plastics with their own material profile.

Choosing based on form, function, and appearance

Choose Mylar film when you need a thin, flexible sheet for stencils or fine flat cutting. Look into PET-G when transparency, clarity, and a plastic sheet are important, but you are not specifically looking for PMMA. PET polyester felt black is a good fit when texture, a softer appearance, and a black felt-like surface matter. Engraving board PMMA black/white is the logical choice for labels, icons, or signs requiring clear contrast. Biopanel and Fibernyl are chosen when biobased plastics or a fibrous structure are part of your material requirements.

Relationship with Acrylic and All materials

Acrylic is the main collection for PMMA, plexiglass, transparent acrylic, colored acrylic, opal, mirror, and Acrysign. Plastics & films is specifically useful when you are looking outside that acrylic family. If you want to compare even more broadly with wood, MDF, foam, and accessories, start at All materials.

Protective film and processing

With plastic sheets, protection during processing often plays a role. Check the guide on protective film when you want to determine whether the film should be left on, removed, or applied separately. Compare your chosen material on its product page; plastic materials vary too much to make general performance claims at the collection level.

General applications and ordering

This collection is often browsed for displays, labels, stencils, prototypes, packaging tests, presentation materials, and technical plastic parts. First, determine whether you are looking for film, a transparent sheet, felt, engraving board, or biobased plastic. Then, choose the product, thickness, and size.
